On Saturday, November 18, The Benicia Kiwanians and Key Club Members helped to receive donations at Raleys in Southampton. Here's a picture of some of the Key Club members and John Farley (the tall guy)! See more pictures in the photo gallery. The event collected 124 Turkeys, $1,236.00 in cash and 345lbs of groceries. Thanks to Steve C. for coordinating this project and for all those who volunteered! We also donated another 20 Turkeys to the Army Reserves via Dr. Richard Lundin, and 5 Turkeys also went to Julie Lake's rehab. organization.
Division 8 Council Meeting Held 11/16
Our Benicia Kiwanis Club hosted the November DCM at the 2nd Street Grill. We had a packed house of more than 75 Kiwanians and guests turned out for the dinner and to hear guest speaker, Bill Stephens discuss the initiative to relocate the USS Iowa from the mothball fleet to what is being termed the Historic Ships Memorial at Pacific Square on Mare Island. We were also treated with the singing of selected American favorites by our very own Nancy Zakar, Anne Loveton-Jones and Jim Peters. Here they are (more pictures are available in the Photo Gallery):
