Congratulations! President Sam Jones -  Upon  receiving the Wm. A. Dunlap Award from Lt. Gov. Larry Johns on July 19 at the DCM in St. Helena.  The Dunlap is the highest district honor a member can receive and was given to Sam in recognition of his outstanding service to Kiwanis.  Well done Sam!  (Benicia Kiwanis strikes again!)

Speakers Program – Christopher Verreos of Peoples High School in Vallejo was the program speaker at the July 25^th meeting. Chris talked about truly making a difference in the lives of his students by simply believing in them.  The focus of Verreos’ work is on helping teens to think for themselves and develop their own potential. He also shares with them the value of group support and networking through civic organizations like Kiwanis.  We are grateful for such a hopeful and inspiring talk.

Town Hall Meeting – Five Kiwanians attended a recent Town Hall meeting with Congressman George Miller who visited Benicia in July and engaged in a lively civic discussion with the citizens of our community.  Democracy in action!
