John Farley Holiday Food Drive - November 2007

Hello Kiwanians--

I wanted to make sure all of our club members received the following message from John Farley--it's so wonderful. 

Our John Farley Food Drive at Raley's last Saturday was very successful!  This year the emphasis was on food collected (rather than turkeys alone as in past years).  Our team numbers showed almost 200 Raley's Food Drive bags sold ($10 cost for a $20 value), approximately 300 pounds of canned goods collected, 36 turkeys and over $500 cash.  Sam figured out that the total value exceeded that from our drive last year! 

We couldn't have done it without the 41 Key Club members who were there, several of whom entertained the shoppers with singing and guitar playing.

Thanks so much to our club volunteers, including Jim M., Barry, Lisa, Fred, Paul L., Julie Lake (Steve C.'s mom) and of course my extra helpful husband  Sam!
