It is that time of year again to start planning for the 4^th annual Membership Day!  In order to make this event successful, we want club members to be aware of several significant dates leading up to Membership Day.

At this time, we ask that you start thinking about people that you know that want to make a difference in their community by serving the children of Benicia along with having the fellowship of belonging to the Kiwanis Club.  Please think about your neighbors, co-workers and business acquaintances that may be interested in joining a service organization.

What a great opportunity for us as Kiwanian’s to open our doors to others and share with them what we do to make a difference for the children of Benicia.

We will be doing a raffle on Membership Day for the guests on February 27^th, therefore we will be accepting any donations to be raffled off.   If you have any other ideas you wish to share in order to make this year the best ever, please let us know.

Ø      January 23  2008 - We will be asking you to complete guest information on the Kiwanis website (www.kiwanisclubbenicia.org) for each guest that you believe would be interested in becoming a member of the Kiwanis Club or finding out more about the Kiwanis Club and what we do for the community and children.  Each guest will receive an invitation letter to attend the Membership Day dinner on February 27^th..

A sign up sheet will be distributed for club members to help with follow up calls to the guests who have received letters.  In the letter we tell the guest a club member will contact them to extend a personal invitation to the dinner.  We will provide the volunteer with a list of guests and phone numbers to call.  

Ø      February 13, 2008 - We now have all the guest names and addresses and they have been merged into a letter to invite them to the dinner. 

Ø      February 17^th to 21^st - This is the week we have designated to call all guests who have received the invitation letter to personally invite them.

Ø      February 13, 2008 - At this meeting we will be sending around a sign up sheet to ask for volunteers

to decorate and set-up St. Paul’s Church for the dinner.  We are also asking for help with the clean-up after dinner.   Please sign up!

Ø      February 27, 2008 - Membership Day Dinner!   We ask you to greet your guest when they arrive for dinner and provide them with their name badge and guest folder.  You will also be introducing them at dinner (just name and place of business). 

In order for this event to increase our membership and be successful we need your help and time.  We request that everyone provide at least one guest name and attend the dinner on February 27^th.
